Yes, that seems like a IM porn bot. They're rather common on Yahoo Messenger at least - don't know exactly which network you use.
They don't normaly contact people at random from profiles (never heard of such a thing, unless you were targeted on purpose by someone), but they usually move from chatroom to chatroom looking at the user lists and sending PMs to random pople chatting there. Not really interactive, they usually just send an invitation to check their profile either in the chatroom or by PM (usually there are links to adult webcam sites on their profile, which is the comercial reason behind this).
The profiles and bot messages want to appear "real", but they usually do a poor job at it.
Overall a rather unintresting type of bot, there are other much more interesting bots on YM (especially on chat) that can actually do usefull things, or sustain a conversation (Alice-style), but usually you have to get access rights from their owners to use them.

while sitting at work i recived an instant message from a womam (saposidly) who said that she was looking at my profile in yahoo and wanted to talk to me about sex. I said that i was at work and unable to procede on that string but would like to talk to her is she wanted to talk about anything else. The reason i belive this is a bot is as soon as i said no there was a link on the im screen to a rather pornographic profile. Later i couldnt find that profile it was just gone. Any thoughts?
